Who are you running behind?

We all have goals, those desires or achievements that we are working towards and in the main, these are a positive.

But we’ve often also been conditioned to ‘Keep Up With The Jones’s’. To stay in front, to not fall behind, to run ever faster.

What happens though, if you’ve fallen into that trap? What happens when you can’t run faster?

Who are the particular Jones’s in your running world? A star runner in your local running club may appear as an under-performer if you pop them in to Team GB at the Olympics. A 1st place runner at the local half marathon might feel under-prepared at an Athletics championship. Who then are we REALLY comparing ourselves against?

If that comparison with different peers motivates great, if it doesn’t, consider changing who you watch on Strava….it’s our choice
