Beginners Luxury Trail Running and Navigation Holiday Snowdonia 22nd to 25th March 2021

Trail running and Navigation for beginners in Snowdonia, this event is the very first to include navigation skills with Geoff who learnt navigation in the high mountains of Snowdonia, Scotland and the Alps and won a number of mountain ultras organised by his club for 7 years on the run.

You’ll be shown and learn techniques that will help you feel more comfortable in the art and science of navigation on the trails and out in the wilds, whether you’re planning a days running on your own, racing your first Ultra that requires navigation skills or simply want to learn map reading and location skills.

Part way through one of our beginners runs – you’re never ‘at the back’ on my events

We will also be including one on one coaching in the practice and science of trail running, up and downhill techniques and nutrition, so there’s lot’s to enjoy and learn on this event.

Where are we staying?

We’ll be staying at the wonderful Plas Colwyn luxury cottage and you’ll share a twin, bunk or double room (preferences are available) in this rather beautiful cottage in the picturesque village of Beddgelert nestled in Snowdonia National Park, and run from there (some driving may be required).

Meals (including 2 course evening meals) will be included in the price and will be prepared and cooked by our private chef who’ll be with us throughout your stay.

You’ll also benefit from coaching advice from Geoff, a UK Athletics running coach and author of the Amazon top 10 in category ebook – The Runners Guide to injury Free Running.

Snowdonia Luxury Trail and Navigation 22nd to 25th March2021

What else is included?

  • What do I wear to run trails?
  • How different is it to road running?
  • How do I transition from road to trail and back again?
  • How do I navigate across terrain that might not have an obvious trail?
  • How does my pace when running trails instead of roads?
  • How do I map read with confidence?
  • How do I navigate using bearings?
  • What do I eat and drink differently on trail runs?
  • How easy is it to stay balanced trail running?
  • Will I be using different kit and how do I choose it?
  • How do I use psychology to improve my performance?
  • What drills can I apply practically to improve my running form?

And I’m sure you’ve got lots more running questions too! Well I’ll answer all your questions during our time in Beddgelert

This is an experience that will give us the fantastic opportunity to go deep on some really interesting running questions, to work through the concept of transition between road and trail and to look at how our road running can impact our trail running, and also how trail running can ultimately improve our performance when we’re running on the road.

That might mean we review training options, current running style, nutrition, injuries or how to use drills.
