This is a special opportunity to join me in The Yorkshire Dales for a rather unique event….The Yorkshire 3 Peaks!

Meals (including evening meals) will be included in the price and prepared and cooked by our private chef and you’ll benefit from coaching advice from Geoff, a UK Athletics running coach who has run extensively in the high mountains of Snowdonia, Scotland and the Alps and won a number of mountain ultras organised by his club for 7 years on the run.

What is the Yorkshire 3 Peaks?

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks is a famous route that takes in the 3 hills of the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park, Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen Y Ghent and takes us through some amazing places along its circuitous route of 24 miles and 5200ft of ascent.

As you might expect on one of Geoff’s events we take things as easy as possible, with an emphasis on your enjoyment and ensuring you have a wonderful time as we explore this route through the Yorkshire Dales countryside, and we will take the full weekend to immerse ourselves in this wonderful part of the country, it really will be an exceptional weekend and one not to be missed.

Please do bear in mind the distance covered and acsent before committing.

Where will we stay

We’ll be staying at the well appointed Broadrake Bunkbarn is situated at the foot of Whernside in the heart of Yorkshire’s famous Three Peaks which is part of the scattered hamlet of Chapel-le-Dale. It is in a quiet location about ¾ mile off the Ingleton to Hawes road with views in front to Ribblehead Viaduct, Park Fell and Ingleborough and Whernside to the rear.

The surrounding land is farmed by the neighbours at Bruntscar with the field in front grown for hay through spring and early summer, then grazed by sheep once it has been cut. A field behind the bunkhouse which has two sections of new native woodland planted in December 2012, separated by a central area being developed as an upland wildflower meadow. There is also a wildlife pond created in 2015 to help increase biodiversity further; the areas immediately behind the buildings have remnants of limestone scar with large rock outcrops hosting diverse plant life.

The Bunkbarn itself is an old agricultural building attached to the main farmhouse. It has been renovated to form group accommodation sleeping 20 in 5 rooms all on the ground floor and communal space on the first floor.

From the entrance hall a wide, glazed staircase leads up to a large open plan room complete with the original exposed beams. There is a kitchen area with two ovens, two induction hobs, two sinks, a tall larder fridge and an under worktop fridge with small freezing compartment and a dishwasher. The other half of the room is a lounge area with comfy sofas. There is a small snug off this room with a sofa and bookcase; there is also an upstairs toilet.

We’ll be near the picture postcard village of Ingleton, famous for its limestone escarpments and sublime views and you’ll share a bunk room in this charming venue in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and run from there (some driving may be required).

What to expect

This is a opportunity to explore a part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and this famous route across three hills with experienced guides, and a highly skilled and experienced team. We will arrange everything, including the distance and amount of ascent to make this as easy going as possible.

Our qualified Run Leaders will guide your through the landscape and you’ll have time to discuss coaching techniques with Geoff, along with having all of you meals prepared and cooked for you by our experienced private chef, from our latest spring/summer menu.

What can you expect on a focusedperformance weekend?

I look forward walking and running together with you in Yorkshire!

Regards, Geoff
