At focusedperformance we specialise in providing bespoke and enjoyable holidays in the UK and Overseas for runners.

From the minute you arrive Geoff and his team will ensure each moment is memorable for all the right reasons – our holidays are designed by runners for runners, led by Geoff a UK Athletics qualified professional running coach, and winner of his clubs Welsh 3000’s Mountain Ultra for 7 consecutive years, and a team of run leaders, a private chef and special guests such as yoga practitioners, personal trainers and sports therapists, amongst others.

Each member of our team brings a specific set of skills that are directly applicable to you as a runner, we look after the detail so you can relax, sure in the knowledge everything is as perfect as we can make it.

We’ve been building running holidays since 2018, and our 100+ five star reviews and recommendations on facebook show you exactly what our previous guests have thought of the holidays they’ve joined.

In few words = Our events are never boot camps…

What to expect on a focusedperformance event

From the moment you arrive, the glass of prosecco or non alcoholic alternative in your hand, to the first run with Geoff and the team, to each meal prepared and cooked from the freshest ingredients by our private chef, you’ll feel like a guest in every sense of the word and that’s the way we like it to be.

Let’s hear from some of our regular guests to see what they think of focusedperformance events…

Venues

Snowdonia – We use two venues in Snowdonia, the first was where it all started, a gorgeous mountain hut with one floor shared sleeping which is reflected in the price. This is our Capel Curig venue with space for 15 guests. The other venue is a large converted Victorian house with seperate bunks offering more privacy. Here you can choose from 8 or 10 bunk rooms, or rooms with 3 or 4 beds or even choose a single occupancy rate room with space for 20 guests.

Peak District – Our latest location, right in the heart of the beautiful Hope Valley we’ll stay at a National Trust bunkhouse with sleeping options in seperate rooms: either 1 room sleeping eight (bunkbeds), 1 room sleeping six (bunkbeds) and 1 room sleeping six (single beds) with space for 20 guests.

Black Mountains – Soon we’ll be running here in fabulous South Wales, with some really stunning trails, staying at a bunkhouse right by Table Mountain

Catalonia – We stay in a truly luxurious venue, Villa Calonge, close to the medieval village of Calonge and 5 km from the beach. It is newly furnished with all the facilities of home plus more with 9 large bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, Inside and outside living areas and kitchens.

Types of focusedperformance events

We operate in a number of different locations, but all of our events follow the same classification, here’s a quick explanation and a video to add some more detail.

Beginners

Beginners events are easy going, with distances between 3.5 and 5 miles in length, but there is never any pressure to run further than this distance or faster than is comfortable for you. We manage this because we have a team of fabulous UK Athletics qualified Run Leaders on our events that run at the back, middle and front of every run, meaning you are never ‘left at the back’.

We include plenty of stops to rest and take pictures – you’ll definitely want to snap some pics as the views are always stunning!

Beginners Improver

Beginners Improver events are still easily paced, with distances between 8 to 10 miles in length, again with no pressure to run further than this distance or faster than is comfortable for you. Again, this is thanks to our wonderful team of UK Athletics qualified Run Leaders who run at the back, middle and front of every run, meaning you are never ‘left at the back’.

We include plenty of stops to rest and take pictures – you’ll definitely want to snap some pics as the views are always stunning!

Intermediate

Intermediate events are slightly quicker paced, with distances between 10 to 14 miles in length, and with a little more ascent involved. Again with no pressure to run further or faster than is comfortable for you, it is worth noting because of the distances involved once we have convered a certain distance we will be fairly committed to the route plan, so it’s important you are at least able to run the stated mileage off – road. We will have a team of fabulous UK Athletics qualified Run Leaders on our events that run at the back, middle and front of every run, meaning you are never ‘left at the back’.

We include plenty of stops to rest and take pictures – you’ll definitely want to snap some pics as the views are always stunning!
