We’re back in Snowdonia!
And what a fitting way to return to this wonderful part of the world that by holding a brand new event!
I’ve been asked to create this event many times by our regular runners and I’m delighted to finally get to launch it.
My team of experienced UK Athletics Run leaders and I will look after you throughout the event, and you’ll get first hand practical tips and tactics which I used to win a mountain ultra for 7 years in a row.
I’ve chosen some perfect trails that add in some ascent, but not too much, and don’t worry, we won’t be running directly up any mountains although mountain terrain running is involved. We will be in Snowdonia, but nowhere we’ve run before, on trails that will show this area off to it’s best.
I’ve taken hundreds of runners away on my trail running events in the UK and overseas so you can rest assured that the event isn’t like any bootcamp – you’re our guest and that’s the way I like it to be.
How long will we run for?
Time: 10:30 to 13:00 at Capel Curig on the A5
We will run between 4.5 and 6.0 miles, depending on how we move and there will be lots of stops for rest and to take pictures of this stunning landscape.
This Morning Session is designed for those who are new to mountain running and won’t include any hills or mountains. The route will include some uphill and downhill, all suited to those who have done some trail running before and now want to try out mountain running. Our pace will be easy going, with plenty of stops to rest and take lots of photos’ – you’ll definately want to capture this magical part of the world – the views will be incredible!
You’ll learn so much about uphill techniques, along with downhill running. I will also offer advice on how to use running poles too, as I’m receiving so many queries about their use.
Geoff and a UK Athletics running leader will be with the group throughout.
